Eligibility information is outlined below based on providers with offerings that are available to the entire Harvard community or a specific unit/appointment.

Harvard College Library, Services for Academic Programs

Harvard College Library, Services for Academic Programs (SAP) offer consultations to help researchers and other library staff identify data and coordinate with bibliographers and collection development librarians on possible purchases.

  • Helping researchers select the best repository for their needs 
  • Helping researchers consider what data can be shared 
  • Advising on preparing data and documentation 
  • Liaising with the data repository 
  • Depositing the files 
  • Creating repository metadata 

Data repository options include: 

  • HBS Dataverse: Run by Harvard, with a collection specifically for HBS-produced data. - 
  • ICPSR: Full-service data archive with a commitment to long-term preservation. Expert in managing and providing restricted access to sensitive data.
  • Journal-Approved Repositories
